Update with City
The City has met with a few people that each represent the Rodeo Grounds, Baseball, Softball and School District. They have met twice and had a lot of good discussion.
As there are no minutes posted at this point, but this is a brief summary of the last meeting and follow-up council and board meetings. We apologize if we have left anything out.
- So that Softball and Baseball can move forward with fundraising and field work, Superintendent Phil Jensen asked the City to extend the lease between the school and city for 20 years.
- Council-member Brad Eldred and Mayor Sean Mork agreed to bring that to forward to the City Council meeting on Monday, July 24, with the understanding that the school would eventually buy it from the city for $1
- More work needs to be done on an agreement regarding maintenance, ownership, etc
- On Monday, the City Council approved both the improvement plans that baseball and softball have brought forward, as well as the 20-year lease agreement.
- That same night, the School Board approved the same lease.
- WE HAVE THE GREEN LIGHT TO MOVE FORWARD ON IMPROVEMENTS AND FUNDRAISING FOR IMPROVEMENTS!
